A person allegedly killed his 20-month-old daughter after his spouse requested for Rs 5 to purchase a snack for the wailing youngster in Maharashtra’s Gondia district, a police official stated on Thursday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at Lonara village, situated over 900 km from Mumbai, following which the 28-year-old accused, Vivek Uike, was arrested, he stated.
The kid was crying and asking for ‘Khaja’ (a candy snack manufactured from wheat flour) from her mom.
When the lady requested for Rs 5 from her husband to purchase the snack and pacify the child, he allegedly picked up the kid and smashed her head on a door repeatedly, the senior police official from Gondia stated.
The woman’s mom tried to intervene, however couldn’t save the kid.
The newborn obtained extreme accidents on her head and different physique elements and died on the spot, the official stated.
The mom later knowledgeable the police, following which the physique was despatched to a hospital for a forensic examination, he stated.
Based mostly on police grievance filed by the lady, Vivek Uike was arrested and charged for homicide, he stated.
In accordance with the official, the couple received married in 2018, however the lady later left his house for a couple of 12 months as he allegedly used to beat her inebriated.
In 2019, she returned to his house within the village, he added.
